Backstage likes to be your, so called home away from home, where you can truly unwind and relax, meet andmake new friends.
BUT same time, as one of our customers put it, we are also the CafeBar that dares to be different!
Expressing that way that Backstage is not your average Gay Patong cafe/bar and that we always, or at times, like to do things rather different from what peole are used to.
Now it has become one of our two mission statements, next to Backstage being a Purple Meeting Point!
And for those who wonder “why purple?” our answer is pretty simple: Purple is the gay color here in Thailand. Popular said purple is the Thai pink!
Anyway we are happy when we can simply be the place where you can be yourself. -after all that is

Events
Yes, at Backstage we sometimes like to enjoy a good, decent party. When we do, be assured its always genuine and fun!
But we also support other venues, so we like not only to announce our own little events, but also of other gay venues here in and around Patong for you to enjoy while here But they have to be gay (meaning for the whole of the LGBT community)!
We advice you to keep an eye on our events calender!
Free Wifi
For all our customers we offer free use of our Wifi and we hope in the near future also to be able to have internet facilities available for those who do not have their own laptop, smartphone or iPad with them.;-)
Open Bar Night
On wednesdays we can organise our so called Open Bar Night from 6 till 11 pm!
This means you pay 500 Baht (of course subject to change) and will then be able to drink as much as you like from our special Open Bar with local (non)alcoholic beverages, including Chang draught beer and other local beers and red & white wine!
An Open Bar Wednesday is announced by the placing of special banners outside Backstage!
After Beach Hours, 5 till 8pm
Same time those are also our Happy Hours: Buy 1 Get 1 Free! (subject to change due to activities or events, or otherwise)
Enjoy our drinks & cocktails during late afternoons. Come as you are, beachwear or otherwise and relax after your day in the sun or whatever else you have been up to.
Drinking
As any cafe/bar here in Patong, we have a decent range of drinks we can offer you while here at Backstage, by glass or by bottle... just ask for our menu or any of our guys who are most happy to serve you!
And if, by any accident, we do not have your favorte drink on stock? Just let us know, you might find out on your next visit that we then do have your favorite available for you. ;-)
Healthy Thai Food
When hungry, and from around 4-5pm, you can sit down and eat delicious and healthy Thai, so called fast food, or order our snack food, most of the time our homemade spring rolls. We charge still the hard-to-believe-low-price of 80 baht for our dishes of the day as well as the snackfood.
On request we also prepare fish or certain kinds of seafood for you after you have bought it yourself at the fresh food market or catched it yourself. Just ask our staff about this.
Coffee & Tea
We pride ourselves that we make pretty good coffee and can brew you a most decent cup of tea. We have a separate coffee menu where you can choose from.
Cabaret
Backstage’s enjoys to put on a spontaneous performance, show, though we are a relative small cafe/bar. Our staff does enjoy to create some true fun that way!
But we also give our customers the opportunity to use our dressing room and do some performing themselves, dancing or lip singing!
Men’s Only Private BBQ Pool Party
In cooperation with Phuket Gay Homestay we organise, since March 2012, the increasingly popular swimming pool parties at Kathu every Saturday!
The party starts between 4 and 4.30 pm and ends between 10-11 pm, so those who do not like to miss out on the parties and shows in Patongs gay quarter, Paradise Complex, do not have to miss one thing!
Drinks, (non) alcoholic from the open bar, delicious BBQ dinner, towel service, wifi as well as transport to and from Backstage/Patong to Phuket Gay Homestay/Kathu are included in the price! Of course one can also come with their own transport!
For taking part we charge 950 baht, BUT if you sign-up, or book, before or latest Thursday then you get 150 discount!
Same for when you want to use your own transport, then we charge 650 or 500, 150 discount again, when booking or signing up before or on Thursday!
When in Patong or neighbouring beaches: sign-up at Backstage!
The only thing for you to bring along is, next to some swimwear, is a good mood. It’s best to leave your valuables in your safe in your room or home because sadly we can not take responsibility for lost items while at our pool parties.
Private Party
On request we enjoy organising your (private) events, from a birthday party to a wedding. At our Backstage Bar or at any other location of your choice.

Backstage doesn't pretend to be perfect. We like to learn though, so if you have comments on our performance, good or bad, we hope, no we invite you to share them with us so we can learn from your experiences and hopefully trough these experiences we can improve our performance to YOU on your next visit and/or to our other guests! Same counts for when you get inspiring ideas!
